BuilderTrend is a comprehensive construction project management tool that covers much more than just construction estimating.

BuilderTrend is a comprehensive construction project management tool that covers much more than just construction estimating. It includes a built-in customer relationship management (CRM) system,
BuilderTrend’s feature set can be roughly divided across four areas:
Features a fully-fledged lead management system in the form of a CRM hub. Allows for customized proposals and integrated email marketing allowing for quick response time & automated campaigns.
Where BuilderTrend competes in the construction estimating software stage is with its Bids module. Bids allow the seamless creation of bids that are sent and stored in a central location. A major strength is that you can notify subs via the channel of their choice. Send texts, emails or push notifications.
PO Processing also benefits from good UX. Easy-to-use software allows subs to sign off on the scope of work and payment terms with ease.
Real-time tracking leads to decreased overages with BuilderTrend’s budget tools.
Create a cost catalog with detailed line items visible to customers. Collect digital signatures and close more jobs.
BuilderTrend Takeoff allows for precise material and cost estimates. Save money on blueprints while spending less time on manual measuring.
At the heart of the project management, the feature set is the ability to document important info with the Daily Logs. A way to share important information between teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Create and track changes to orders, manage timelines, and track time. Complete with To-Do lists, warranty tracking feature, and more.
BuilderTrend’s customer portal brings the direct relationship with the client even closer. The ability to give clients their own custom login allows them to track build progress and send messages from the same place.
No more emailing back and forth for documents or photographic updates. Clients will find everything they need in their own portal - streamlining your team's communication in one place.

All plans come with a significantly discounted 2 months as a sort of discounted trial period. Then pricing starts at $399 per month for the Essential plan and goes up to $1,299 for the Complete plan.
BuilderTrend’s support offering is quite robust. Check any review of the software online, either positive or negative, and you’ll see dedicated account managers and support team listed as a positive marker every time. BuilderTrend seems to put a lot of focus on this area, making sure onboarding and wider team adoption & rollout is a success.
The support is backed up by the “Buildertrend Learning Academy” which is an online training platform full of different learning pathways to suit different members of the team. The portal is chock full of information from accounting integrations to supplemental resources like live webinars and pro services content.
As BuilderTrend is a cloud-based platform, there’s no need to download any additional software to your PC or MAC. But they do offer an app on the Google & Apply App stores so you can access your projects from anywhere.
As of October 2022, G2 users give BuilderTrend 3.8 out of 5 stars. Its comprehensive nature, and the fact that it covers so many aspects of the construction process, resonates with many top reviewers. Some user experience issues seem to mar the ratings from some users, but overall support and account management, as well as price, feature as strong positives.
Visit BuilderTrend’s homepage and you’ll see they list themselves as the industry solution for home builders, specialty contractors, home remodelers & commercial contractors. Procore is often pitched at a more general level. But both solutions enjoy a similar review rating across various platforms, as well as a similar pricing range. Alongside this, both are end-to-end solutions designed to cover more than just the pre-build phase.
While there’s a lot, we can say about the benefits of CoConstruct, the most important thing to mention is that BuilderTrend actually acquired CoConstruct in February 2021. On the acquisition, CoConstruct Co-Founder Donny Wyatt said “It's rare to see two market-leading providers share a full breadth of complementary operations and product capabilities, but each with their own unique ways of addressing customer challenges”.
Dan Houghton along with brothers Jeff Dugger and Steve Dugger founded BuilderTrend in 2005.
