Commercial EstimatorEstimators support the estimating team in the development of subcontractor costs and estimates based on CSI Division. They develop estimates for all self-performed work including concrete and formwork, building specialties, carpentry, millwork, and other finishes.Estimators are responsible for the development of subcontractor and supplier scopes of work and monitoring the subcontractor pricing with the architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.Estimators with experience as a Civil/Structural Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, Electrical Estimator are strongly encouraged to apply.Essential Job Functions Include
- Read and understand plans and specifications for major/complex projects
- Prepare a thorough take-off of quantities for their scope of work
- Be able to thoroughly review subcontractor pricing and prepare a comprehensive bid tab
- Proficiency in computer skills. Able to adapt and learn programs such as On Screen Take-Off, iSqFt, MC2 and 3D programs such as Scenario
- Able to survey self-work scopes such as building specialties, carpentry, millwork, and some finishes.
- Understanding of subcontractor/supplier relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess good communications skills and be detail oriented
- Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in estimating on large commercial construction projects
- A 4 year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management
- Experience as a Civil/Structural Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, Electrical Estimator
