Key Responsibilities
As an Estimator, you will contribute to the success of preconstruction services by preparing estimates and supporting project planning. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate estimates for assigned scopes of work.
- Demonstrating basic knowledge of unit pricing and cost analysis.
- Leading smaller projects with minimal oversight.
- Soliciting and negotiating vendor pricing for assigned scopes.
- Creating and managing bid package scopes and assisting with bid manuals.
- Updating and maintaining historical cost data and estimating software.
- Recommending improvements to software and estimating processes.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to obtain accurate quantities.
- Ensuring all tasks align with company standards and best practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with industry software, including Autodesk and takeoff/estimating tools.
- Strong math, accounting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
