Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret contract documents and project specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment on projects up to $50 million.
- Assist in developing project schedules and identifying critical milestones.
- Support the pricing of general conditions and project-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to prepare and submit bid proposals.
- Participate in risk assessment and opportunity analysis for project bids.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and develop cost estimates.
- Contribute to tender documentation and coordinate with external consultants as needed.
- Monitor project-specific success criteria and provide input on potential improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent trade experience.
- 2-8 years of experience in construction estimating, with a preference for candidates with on-site experience.
- Familiarity with construction methods, planning, and scheduling.
- Experience with bid preparation, trade procurement, and bid closing processes.
- Strong understanding of contract documents and ability to identify potential risks.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
