Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret contract documents and project specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment on projects up to $50 million.
  • Assist in developing project schedules and identifying critical milestones.
  • Support the pricing of general conditions and project-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to prepare and submit bid proposals.
  • Participate in risk assessment and opportunity analysis for project bids.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and develop cost estimates.
  • Contribute to tender documentation and coordinate with external consultants as needed.
  • Monitor project-specific success criteria and provide input on potential improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent trade experience.
  • 2-8 years of experience in construction estimating, with a preference for candidates with on-site experience.
  • Familiarity with construction methods, planning, and scheduling.
  • Experience with bid preparation, trade procurement, and bid closing processes.
  • Strong understanding of contract documents and ability to identify potential risks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
