Our client, an ENR Top 20 General Contractor is looking for a Lead Estimator to join their Kansas City, MO office.As the Lead Estimator you will lead and manage the preparation of estimates and GMP's for assigned projects, as well as managing junior members of the team. You will lead all estimating functions that may be required for assigned projects during preconstruction, including value engineering, alternative and comparative studies.

• Primary point of contact for estimating services between all project stakeholders i.e. owner, design team etc
• Prepare for and lead internal estimate review meetings
• Site visits to evaluate existing conditions and identify any scope that may not be included in the design documents
• Responsible for the set-up of the estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix, and coordinating work of estimating team members
• Manage Estimators, Assistant Estimators, and Estimator Apprentices, including completing performance evaluations for those staff assigned to the Lead Estimator.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar
• 5+ years of commercial estimating experience
• Must have conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner/architect requirements
• Strong leadership and communication skills to include verbal and written
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with a range of estimating softwares
