Position:

As the Regional Director of Preconstruction, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the preconstruction phase of complex building restoration projects across multiple regions. This senior leadership position requires a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to drive innovation in estimating processes while aligning with the company’s mission of delivering value-driven solutions and maintaining long-term client relationships. You will be responsible for guiding the preconstruction teams to achieve regional and organizational goals, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of preconstruction managers and estimators across multiple regions, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set regional strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals, focusing on expanding the company’s footprint in existing and new markets.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of preconstruction processes, incorporating the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

2. Project Oversight & Development:

  • Oversee the development and submission of accurate, comprehensive project bids, ensuring alignment with the company’s standards and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with operations, safety, and project management teams to streamline the transition from preconstruction to construction, ensuring all project plans are thoroughly vetted and ready for execution.
  • Lead high-level negotiations with subcontractors, vendors, and partners to secure the best value and performance outcomes for the company and its clients.

3. Client & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and industry partners, positioning the company as a trusted leader in complex building restoration.
  • Act as the primary liaison for high-profile projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment between all stakeholders, from project inception through closeout.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, promoting the company’s brand and values.

4. Financial & Performance Metrics:

  • Monitor and analyze preconstruction performance metrics, including hit ratios, fee percentage deltas, and bid accuracy, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage regional preconstruction budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while delivering high-quality results that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Implement strategies to improve the accuracy and predictability of project costs and timelines, contributing to the company’s overall financial success.

5. Safety & Compliance:

  • Champion the company’s commitment to safety, ensuring that all preconstruction activities adhere to strict safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Department to integrate safety considerations into all phases of project planning and execution, minimizing risks and ensuring a safe work environment for all team members and stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in preconstruction management, with a focus on complex building restoration or general contracting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas are a plus.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and leading multi-regional teams in the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Gulf Coast market and experience working in coastal environments is highly desirable.
