Role Overview

As Director of Mechanical, you will be a key executive leader responsible for the oversight, strategy, and delivery of mechanical systems across a wide range of projects. You will partner closely with operations, preconstruction, and field teams to drive best practices, technical excellence, and client satisfaction. This is a strategic leadership role with a blend of technical, operational, and business development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all mechanical scopes from preconstruction through project closeout across multiple large-scale commercial projects
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems, providing guidance on design, construction, commissioning, and turnover
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify project risks and work proactively with teams to develop mitigation strategies
  • Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
  • Support business development efforts, including project pursuits and client presentations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction leadership within a General Contractor or large-scale mechanical subcontractor environment
  • Proven success overseeing major mechanical systems for commercial, healthcare, mission critical, or institutional projects valued $50M+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Deep technical knowledge of mechanical systems, with ability to advise on best practices and drive continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with design-build and collaborative project delivery models strongly preferred
