Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction activities for mission critical/data center projects including budgeting, phasing, scheduling, and scope definition
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal departments to align technical and financial goals
- Oversee and mentor estimating and preconstruction support teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support procurement strategy and vendor evaluation for specialized systems (e.g., MEP, backup power, cooling)
- Conduct constructability reviews and develop logistics strategies aligned with aggressive schedules and zero-downtime requirements
- Develop and present RFQs, RFPs, and client-facing proposals
- Maintain and grow client relationships through expert consultation and industry knowledge
- Assist in internal training and development of preconstruction staff in the mission critical sector
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in construction, including specific experience with mission critical/data center projects
- Deep understanding of design-build and/or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
- Technical knowledge of critical infrastructure systems: MEP, power distribution, HVAC, redundancy
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills with proven client engagement experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail and risk mitigation
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed for client interactions and site visits
